The contribution of Stewart group in the model railway started in 1950 through Stewart Products. Willis Stewart founded Stewart Products which aimed at producing parts and freight cars for model railway.

Stewart Products produced freight cars, locomotives, scenery and other accessories at a large scale. It also manufactured detailed parts for these cars and locomotives. Apart from decent quality, they provided the railway equipment at a cheaper price. The company later split into two parts, with one part, namely Stewart Hobbies which concentrated only on HO scale products. They dealt in quality products in locomotives, freight cars and detailed parts for HO scale. The locomotive line comprised of Alco, Baldwin, emD and GE prototypes. The freight cars were also well made and highly detailed, to the pleasure of the wide customer base.

The Stewart group never compromised on quality or the level of detailing. Even the parts which are provided are detailed enough to fit the complete product. Stewart Hobbies has been in business for the past 17 years, and they have improved their products to impeccable quality. Recently, Stewart Hobbies and Bowser have merged their online web-sites and have come together for future pursuits.
